Even though the state where it is located, Texas, is politically “red” and largely opposed to vaccine mandates, the Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) in Houston has decided to mandate the newest Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) “vaccines” for students, faculty members and employees at the facility.
Since Texas does allow publicly funded institutions to mandate jabs, BCM is in full alignment with the law as it pertains to the new dictate. Even though Gov. Greg Abbott, a Republican, has stated that the Lone Star State “should be leading the fight against COVID tyranny,” BCM has other plans in mind.
BCM just so happens to be one of the largest public institutions in Texas, which makes the new mandate a blight on the state’s landscape. There are apparently enough leftists in charge at the institution that they were able to issue the mandate at all.
“An updated COVID vaccine has been approved by the FDA and is now available,” reads a September 28 statement from the school.
“A single dose is recommended for individuals 6 months and older. Because protection from prior vaccination fades over time and this updated vaccine better matches the currently circulating strains the updated dose is recommended. Baylor faculty, staff and students must get the COVID vaccine, or request a medical, religious, or personal exemption by Nov. 30.”
“Because of the concern in case numbers, some entities have reinstated mask mandates. BCM does not have a mask mandate, but if you are at high risk you may consider making a personal choice to wear a mask in enclosed indoor areas.”

Because “The Texas COVID-19 Vaccine Freedom Act” is currently stalled, the 11,288 people who were listed as employees at BCM as of 2022 will now have to roll up their sleeves for yet another COVID injection – or else quit if they value their lives.
“The Texas COVID-19 Vaccine Freedom Act,” if it ever passes, would prohibit all Texas entities, including hospitals and private businesses, from mandating COVID jabs for their employees.
Right now, the only other protective bill on the books is Senate Bill 29, signed by Gov. Abbott back in September, which prohibits all local governments in Texas from requiring COVID-related masks, jabs, or business shutdowns.
In a statement to the independent media, Texas State Sen. Brian Harrison explained why he is pushing for a statewide ban on all vaccine mandates, as well as calling on Gov. Abbott to convene a special session of the legislature to protect patient rights.
“This is Texas,” Rep. Harrison said. “We should not tolerate this here. The governor should demand we pass the COVID Vaccine Freedom Act in a special session. This makes no sense that people aren’t protected. The Senate has passed it, the governor has called for it, and members of the House overwhelmingly support it. Now we need to do it.”
It is actually a Republican by the name of Dustin Borrows, a member of the Texas House of Representatives, who is blocking the COVID Vaccine Freedom Act from even making it to the House floor. Rep. Borrows is currently in charge of the Calendar Committee, according to Rep. Harrison.
“The chairman waited until the very last day when a bill could be heard then he put it on page nine or 10 knowing that mathematically there would be no chance for the bill to be heard in time,” Harrison further explained.
